LVN/LPN – Licensed Vocational/Practical Nurse

Location: Richmond, VA
Duration: 6 weeks with possible extension
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 7:00 AM–4:00 PM
Experience Required: Less than 2 years
Position Overview

The Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN/LVN) will support both front-office and back-office clinical operations in an advanced primary care environment focused on population health management, health risk reduction, patient education, and improved health outcomes.

The role requires a patient-centered approach, strong communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work collaboratively with providers and center staff.

Key Responsibilities
  • Greet patients and provide a welcoming patient experience.
  • Room patients and prepare them for examinations and procedures.
  • Measure, record, and document patient vital signs.
  • Assist providers with examinations and clinical procedures.
  • Provide patient support during exams and procedures.
  • Enter visit notes and clinical information into the EHR.
  • Administer medications and vaccines according to established protocols.
  • Administer flu shots and support biometric screenings.
  • Draw blood and assist with specimen collection.
  • Process patient phone calls in accordance with organizational protocols.
  • Provide patients with instructions regarding healthcare, treatments, and follow-up care.
  • Communicate relevant patient health information to providers.
  • Assist with patient scheduling and front-office duties.
  • Answer phones and support administrative activities as needed.
  • Maintain medical supply inventory.
  • Stock exam rooms and ensure supplies are available.
  • Provide general clerical and clinical support to the care team.
  • Maintain collaborative relationships with providers and center staff.
  • Support health education and patient outreach initiatives.
  • Work independently while maintaining quality and patient safety standards.
Required Skills
  • Active LVN/LPN license as required by the state.
  • Less than 2 years of clinical experience accepted.
  • Experience administering flu shots.
  • Experience performing biometric screenings.
  • Experience taking and documenting vital signs.
  • Experience assisting with patient examinations and procedures.
  • Knowledge of medication administration.
  • Experience with blood draws and specimen collection preferred.
  • EHR documentation experience.
  • Strong computer skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
  • Decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision.
  • Strong patient-service and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a collaborative healthcare environment.
  • Interest in health education, wellness, and patient outreach.

  • Primary care clinic experience.
