Job Description

We are seeking a dependable and hardworking QC Inspector to join our manufacturing team. This position is responsible for supporting multiple areas of the production process, including rubberized hair cushion production, foam dunnage manufacturing, metal fabrication, material handling, packaging, and quality inspection.

The purpose of the Quality Control Inspector is to both control costs and promote customer satisfaction through verification of any completed product to specifications, reworking that product to meet specifications as needed, and generation and accurate filing of inspection and shipping documents.

What You Will Do

  • Complete quality inspections regarding quality, appearance and compliance (performance) on all work in process and finished goods as well as including notifying the customer as shipments are available for pickup, as needed
  • Must make decisions as to appearance and performance, to compliance specifications per drawings and standards
  • Prepare, analyze, and issue Certifications of Conformance, Inspection Check Sheets, Bills of Lading, Pickup Notices, and other administrative records as required
  • Assist with maintaining accurate raw material and finished goods inventory counts.
  • Assist with minor assembly duties that do not require the use of power tools (gluing labels, stringing lanyards, etc.)
  • Communicate with Engineering as needed to confirm most recent revision of blueprints are being utilized for inspection as well as any engineering change orders were incorporated into blueprints
  • Request modifications to work tooling to meet blueprint specifications as required
  • Perform first piece inspections and interpret quality assurance provisions as per contract requirements
  • Responsible for following safety rules and practices
  • Occasionally will be requested to work overtime
  • Track quality control data using Microsoft Excel and report back to management
  • Rework cushions, inserts, and foam products and to meet specifications thru use of scissorsand other tooling as well as inform Supervisor of deviation
  • Prepare completed orders for shipment via boxing, bagging, or other packing
  • Knows the QMS requirements as they relate to this position
  • Complies with the organization's policies and procedures
  • Complies with regulatory and statutory requirements
  • Flexible to adapt to changing requirements and priorities
  • Maintaining a professional atmosphere
  • Performing their essential job functions as defined and upholding the integrity of the organization
  • Stopping processes if they find requirements are not being met
  • Identifying Corrective Action needs
  • Initiating Continual Improvements in the QMS
  • Complete other duties assigned by Manager

  • Comfortable with data entry and microsoft applications
  • Ability to read and understand blueprints
  • Comfortable working with hand tools, production equipment, and manufacturing materials.
  • Ability to perform repetitive production and material-handling tasks throughout the shift.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing quality work.
  • Ability to work independently while also contributing as part of a production team.
  • Strong time-management skills with the ability to meet production deadlines.
  • Willingness to participate in 5S, housekeeping, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Dependable attendance and a strong work ethic.
  • Ability to follow written and verbal work instructions as well as established safety procedures.

Position Overview

This is a hands-on manufacturing position that requires employees to work across several areas of the production process. Candidates should be comfortable working in an active production environment, handling materials, operating equipment, performing quality checks, and assisting wherever needed to keep production running safely and efficiently.
