Commercial Electrician - New Construction
Pay: $28.00-$35.00 per hour, based on experience
Schedule: 7:00 AM-4:00 PM
This is a working foreman role, meaning you will actively perform electrical work while directing and supporting a construction crew or helper.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform electrical installations for new commercial construction projects, including retail locations, warehouses, and small- to mid-size commercial buildings
- Lead and coordinate electrical helpers and crew members on job sites
- Install and route electrical wiring, cables, conduit, and related systems
- Read and interpret blueprints, electrical drawings, schematics, and specifications
- Ensure installations meet applicable NEC/CEC requirements and electrical codes
- Inspect and test electrical systems and equipment for voltage, current, resistance, and continuity
- Install, troubleshoot, repair, and replace motors, drives, transformers, starters, relays, and electrical controls
- Install and maintain receptacles, switch boxes, feeders, lighting systems, line assemblies, fiber-optic components, and other electrical equipment
- Install electrical panels, circuits, switches, protective devices, conduit, and associated equipment
- Install and replace generators and related electrical components
- Maintain safe, organized, and productive work practices throughout each project
Qualifications:
- 5+ years of commercial electrical experience
- Previous experience as an electrical foreman, lead electrician, or job lead
- Journeyman or Master Electrician license preferred
- Strong ability to read and work from electrical blueprints, schematics, and diagrams
- Knowledge of commercial electrical installation practices and applicable codes
- Willingness to follow all company safety procedures and PPE requirements
- Ability to distinguish and identify different wire colors
- Strong verbal and written English communication skills
- Valid driver's license with an insurable driving record
