Industrial Health, Safety & Environmental (HSE) Partner

Your missionAt Pretium Packaging, a leader in injection–blow molded plastic containers with 17 North American sites, we’re looking for a collaborative HSE professional to champion safe work practices, environmental responsibility, and continuous improvement. You’ll be embedded with operations, maintenance, engineering, and leadership—turning risks into learnings and ideas into action.
What success looks like- Compliance you can trust: A living EHS program aligned to OSHA and environmental requirements, backed by accurate logs and records.
- Fewer incidents, stronger learning: Thorough investigations of injuries and near misses with clear root causes, corrective actions, and follow-up verification.
- Measurable risk reduction: Hazards identified and controlled around plastics processing equipment, robotics/automation, compressed air, and material handling/resins.
- Engaged people: Training that lands—LOTO; PPE and hazard communication; machine guarding; ergonomics; emergency response—and employees active in committees and initiatives.
- Environmental stewardship: Responsible waste management, emissions, stormwater, chemical handling, and timely regulatory reporting.
- Ready for emergencies: Clear plans for fire, evacuation, spills, and medical events; drills that build confidence and capability.
- Conduct safety audits, inspections, and risk assessments; highlight issues to plant leadership with practical solutions.
- Lead/assist incident investigations and root cause analysis; document and drive corrective actions.
- Maintain OSHA logs, safety documentation, and compliance records.
- Monitor hazardous and non-hazardous waste handling and storage; assist with environmental inspections and reporting.
- Support implementation of engineering and administrative controls; track safety metrics and contribute to CI projects.
- Deliver targeted training and facilitate safety committees to strengthen culture across the facility.
- Background: Bachelor’s in EHS, Occupational Safety, Environmental Science, Engineering, or related field preferred; 2+ years of manufacturing EHS experience required.
- Industry savvy: Experience in plastics, injection molding, blow molding, or industrial manufacturing strongly preferred.
- Certifications (Preferred): OSHA 30; CHST, ASP, or similar; First Aid/CPR/AED.
- Capabilities: Deep knowledge of OSHA/environmental compliance; incident investigation and RCA; influence and coaching across all levels; meticulous documentation and organization; Microsoft Office proficiency.
- Communication: Bilingual English/Spanish strongly preferred (read, write, speak).
