Location: New York, NY 10029
Assignment Type: Travel Contract
Shifts: Day & Night Available

  • Night: 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM
  • Day: 7:00 AM – 7:30 PM

Travel Pay: $1,500–$1,690/week
Local Pay: $40–$45/hour

Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Telemetry Technician to support a high-acuity healthcare environment. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in ECG monitoring, cardiac rhythm interpretation, and dysrhythmia recognition within a hospital setting.

The successful candidate will demonstrate excellent attention to detail, strong clinical communication skills, and the ability to respond appropriately to changes in cardiac rhythms and monitoring alarms.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform continuous ECG monitoring and accurately interpret cardiac rhythms.
  • Identify and respond appropriately to life-threatening arrhythmias and significant rhythm changes.
  • Initiate appropriate code procedures and document cardiac rhythms during emergency situations.
  • Perform electrocardiograms (EKGs) with correct electrode placement.
  • Troubleshoot telemetry and monitoring equipment and respond promptly to alarms.
  • Enter and verify physician orders in the electronic medical record (EMR) system.
  • Retrieve and communicate critical laboratory results to nursing staff.
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation in accordance with organizational standards.
  • Collaborate effectively with physicians, nurses, and multidisciplinary care teams.
  • Ensure safe and proper operation of telemetry and cardiac monitoring equipment.
  • Communicate significant rhythm changes and other critical findings promptly to the appropriate clinical staff.
Required Qualifications
  • Minimum 2 years of Telemetry/Monitor Technician experience in a hospital setting.
  • Current Telemetry Technician Certification required.
  • Current BLS Certification from AHA or Red Cross.
  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Completion of a Dysrhythmia Course.
  • Strong ECG interpretation and cardiac arrhythmia recognition skills.
  • Ability to work every other weekend.
  • Strong communication, attention to detail, and ability to work effectively in a high-acuity environment.
