CCT is seeking a Sr. Safety, Health, and Environmental (SHE) Specialist to support our manufacturing operations. This role will be based in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, with regular travel to our West Columbia, South Carolina facility. The SHE Specialist will play a key role in fostering a strong safety culture, ensuring regulatory compliance, driving sustainability initiatives, and supporting continuous improvement across our operations. 

Key Responsibilities:

Safety Leadership & Culture  

• Champion a proactive safety culture focused on hazard recognition, risk reduction, and employee engagement  in an effort to eliminate safety hazards and incidents. 
• Lead the development and continuous improvement of site safety programs, policies, and procedures aligned  with corporate SHE and sustainability goals.  
• Drive site-wide behavioral safety initiatives, toolbox talks, safety campaigns, and incident awareness.  

Regulatory Compliance & Standards  

• Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations including OSHA, EPA, DOT, and chemical-specific  regulations.  
• Manage compliance with Process Safety Management (PSM) standards and chemical hygiene requirements.  
• Maintain and support certifications related to ISO 14001 (Environmental Management), ISO 45001  (Occupational Health & Safety Management), and ISO 50001 (Energy Management System).  

Sustainability & Energy Management  

• Lead site sustainability initiatives to reduce environmental footprint, optimize resource use, and support  corporate sustainability goals.  
• Develop and implement energy management programs in alignment with ISO 50001, focusing on energy  efficiency and conservation projects.  
• Monitor, analyze, and report on energy consumption and environmental impact metrics; drive continuous  improvement in energy performance.  

Hazard Identification & Risk Management  

• Conduct regular risk assessments, safety audits, workplace inspections, and hazard analyses (e.g., HAZOP, JSA,  PHA).  
• Oversee corrective and preventive actions (CAPAs) related to safety and environmental incidents.  
• Lead investigations of accidents, near-misses, and environmental releases; identify root causes and implement  corrective actions.  

Training & Development  

• Develop, deliver, and track comprehensive safety, health, environmental, and energy management training  programs for all employees and contractors.  
• Ensure personnel are competent in safe work practices, emergency response, chemical handling protocols,  and energy conservation measures.  
• Promote awareness of environmental stewardship and sustainability initiatives.  

Environmental Management  

• Oversee environmental compliance programs including waste management, emissions control, spill  prevention, and resource conservation.  
• Coordinate environmental monitoring, reporting, and permits management.  
• Drive initiatives to minimize environmental footprint and support sustainability goals.  

Emergency Preparedness & Response  

• Develop and maintain emergency response plans, including chemical spill response, fire safety, and evacuation  drills.  
• Coordinate with local emergency responders and regulatory agencies as needed.  
• Ensure readiness of site personnel and resources for effective emergency response.  

Data Management & Reporting  

• Track and analyze safety, environmental, and energy performance metrics (e.g., incident rates, energy  consumption, audit findings).  
• Prepare and present regular reports to site leadership and corporate management.  
• Support continuous improvement efforts using data-driven insights.  

Collaboration & Communication  

• Partner with operations, maintenance, quality, and logistics to integrate SHE and sustainability best practices  into daily activities.  
• Serve as the site liaison for regulatory agencies, external auditors, and community stakeholders.  
• Foster open communication channels to encourage reporting and resolution of safety, environmental, and  energy concerns. 

Requirements:

 Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Safety, Environmental Health, Engineering, Industrial Hygiene, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
• 5+ years of experience in a manufacturing environment.
• 5+ years of experience in a Safety, Health, and Environmental role.
• Strong knowledge of OSHA regulations, environmental compliance requirements, and industrial safety practices.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
• Ability to travel approximately 25% of the time between Philadelphia, PA and West Columbia, SC.

Preferred Qualifications

• Professional certifications such as CSP, CIH, OHST, QEP, or similar.
• Experience with ISO management systems.
• Experience in the pressure-sensitive adhesive (PSA), coatings, chemicals, or related manufacturing industries.
