Position Overview:

Texas Panhandle Centers is seeking a Purchasing Coordinator (1026) to handle purchase agreements for the agency and negotiations with vendors.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain ethical and professional communications at all times using respectful trauma-informed care language.
  • Provide purchasing services for TPC departments, staff, and vendors.
  • Perform routine and complex work in the purchasing of commodities, materials, and services.
  • Prepare reports, complete formal and informal bids, and process requisitions through local, state, and federal contracts and other related governmental entities.
  • Communicate information in relation to processed purchase orders, expediting, change notices, and vendor relation reports.
  • Work with all staff and vendors to determine the best value to the agency.
  • Assist walk-in customers and pull stock as necessary to fill orders.
  • Adhere to TPC Business Code of Conduct and report concerns if ethical and/or business standards defined in the code are compromised.

Qualifications & Credentials:

Education & Credentials (Required):

  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • One semester (12 credit hours) of accredited college work, OR a minimum of 8th grade reading comprehension level as evidenced by a qualifying score on the Adult Basic Learning Examination (ABLE).
  • Experience and working knowledge of general purchasing and contracting.
  • Valid Texas Driver’s License with an insurable driving record.
  • At least 18 years of age.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university in Business, Management, Accounting, or a related field.
  • Certification from a major purchasing association.
