A well-established senior living community in the Manchester/Southern, NH, New Hampshire area is seeking an energetic, creative, and compassionate Activities Director to lead our resident activities and recreation program.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced activities professional who is passionate about creating meaningful experiences, building relationships, and enhancing the quality of life of seniors.

The Activities Director will be responsible for developing and overseeing a comprehensive activities program designed to meet the social, emotional, physical, cognitive, and recreational needs of our residents.

What You'll Do

• Plan, develop, organize, implement, and evaluate a comprehensive resident activities program

• Create an engaging monthly activities calendar featuring a variety of programs, events, outings, and entertainment

• Develop programs that meet residents' individual interests, abilities, backgrounds, and needs

• Encourage resident participation and engagement in community activities

• Plan and coordinate special events, holiday celebrations, entertainment, and community outings

• Provide activities appropriate for residents with varying levels of physical and cognitive abilities

• Build meaningful relationships with residents and learn their individual interests and preferences

• Lead, supervise, schedule, and support activities department staff

• Collaborate with nursing, social services, dietary, therapy, and other departments to support resident quality of life

• Communicate with residents and families regarding programs and special events

• Continuously develop new and creative ways to keep residents active, engaged, and connected

Qualifications

• Previous activities/recreation experience in senior living, assisted living, memory care, skilled nursing, long-term care, or a related healthcare setting preferred

• Previous leadership or supervisory experience preferred

• Strong understanding of the social and recreational needs of older adults

• Creative, enthusiastic, outgoing, and resident-focused personality

• Strong leadership and team-building abilities

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

• Strong organizational and time-management abilities

• Ability to plan and manage multiple programs, events, and priorities

• Comfortable working with residents with varying physical and cognitive needs

• Computer proficiency and ability to maintain required documentation
