Snapshot / Role Overview

We're looking for a Shipping and Receiving Manager in the San Jose area to own material flow through the warehouse and out to job sites across the Bay Area for a commercial mechanical contractor.

Impact

• Material accuracy is schedule protection: verify every shipment before it leaves the dock.
• Stage kits the way the field installs so crews stay productive.
• Keep high-value equipment moving instead of sitting in the yard.

Responsibilities

• Run the receiving dock and lead the warehouse team.
• Check inbound freight against purchase orders, packing slips, and bills of lading, and drive vendor claims for damage or shortages.
• Maintain inventory accuracy through cycle counts and disciplined ERP and WMS transactions.
• Stage and kit pipe, duct, fittings, valves, sheet metal, control panels, and equipment by job, phase, and area.
• Coordinate delivery windows and site access with project managers, foremen, and purchasing.
• Schedule outbound deliveries and will-call pickups and enforce safe rigging and loading.

Must-Haves

• Warehouse or shipping leadership in construction or industrial distribution.
• Hands-on ERP or WMS experience and cycle count discipline.
• Familiarity with mechanical materials: pipe, duct, fittings, valves, and equipment.

Nice-to-Haves

• Forklift and rigging certifications.
• Experience kitting for prefabrication.

Compensation and Logistics

Competitive salary depending on experience, plus benefits. Onsite in the San Jose area.
