Location: Columbus, OH. This is a full-time hybrid opportunity offering a mix of in-office collaboration and work-from-home flexibility.

Note: Candidates must be actively licensed to practice law in Ohio and have at least 1 year of hands-on family law experience. We are especially interested in attorneys with a strong academic background and experience within an established law firm who can transition quickly into an active family law practice.

Job Description

  • Manage family law matters involving divorce, dissolution, child custody, parenting time, child and spousal support, and related domestic relations issues.
  • Counsel clients throughout their matters and provide clear, strategic guidance during complex and often sensitive situations.
  • Draft pleadings, motions, discovery, settlement documents, and other legal filings.
  • Develop case strategy and manage matters efficiently from intake through resolution.
  • Prepare for and participate in hearings, mediations, depositions, negotiations, and trials.
  • Conduct discovery, analyze financial and factual issues, and prepare cases for settlement or litigation.
  • Collaborate with attorneys and support staff to deliver responsive, high-quality representation.
  • Maintain accurate case documentation, meet deadlines, and communicate consistently with clients.

Qualifications

  • Juris Doctor from an accredited law school.
  • Active Ohio Bar license in good standing.
  • 1+ year of direct family law experience required.
  • Strong legal writing, negotiation, advocacy, and client communication skills.
  • Ability to manage an active caseload and competing deadlines.
  • Strong academic credentials and established law firm experience preferred.
  • Experience with divorce, custody, support, discovery, hearings, and contested domestic relations matters strongly preferred.
  • Experience with high-asset divorce, complex property division, business or retirement assets, or high-conflict custody matters is a plus.
  • Central Ohio and Franklin County domestic relations experience is a plus.
