Caregiver

Visiting Angels is hiring experienced in-home caregivers who are passionate about helping seniors live safely and comfortably at home in the Brighton MI area. If you’re a dependable caregiver who values meaningful one-on-one care, we’d love to meet you.

Caregiver Responsibilities:

• Assist seniors with personal care (bathing, grooming, dressing, toileting)
• Help with mobility, transfers, and fall prevention
• Prepare meals and assist with feeding
• Light housekeeping and laundry
• Medication reminders (non-medical)
• Companionship and emotional support
• Follow individualized care plans
• Observe and report changes to client's condition

Caregiver Required Qualifications:

• Caregiving experience Required
• Qualifying Job Titles / Role Variations: In-Home Caregiver, Home Health Aide (HHA), Personal Care Assistant (PCA), Companion Caregiver, CNA (if applicable), Senior Caregiver, Elder Care Provider, Direct Care Professional (DCP)
• Experience with seniors, dementia, or Alzheimer’s preferred
• Reliable transportation and valid driver’s license REQUIRED
• Must be willing to drive a 30 mile radius from your house
• Ability to pass background check
• Strong communication skills and a compassionate attitude
• Stand and walk for extended periods throughout the workday.
• Bend, stoop, kneel, squat, reach, and twist as needed to provide care.
• Lift and carry up to 25 lbs.
• Push and pull up to 50 lbs. of equipment, such as wheelchairs or other mobility devices.
• Assist with client transfers, repositioning, and mobility using proper body mechanics and required equipment.
• Assist clients with bathing, dressing, toileting, and other personal care tasks.
• Climb stairs when required by the client's home or care plan.
• Maintain physical stamina and balance sufficient to safely complete the assigned shift.
• Respond physically to unexpected client needs, client mobility needs, including supporting or guiding a falling client to the floor when necessary.
