 About the Role

We are seeking the very best security professionals to join the Merchants Security Service of Dayton Ohio Inc. team in Wilmington, Ohio. Coverage is needed around the clock. In this role, you will maintain a visible security presence, enforce site policies, respond to incidents, and help create a safe environment for employees, visitors, and clients. Multiple shifts are available 24/7.

Key Responsibilities

- Conduct regular patrols (foot and/or vehicle) of buildings, grounds, and parking areas

- Monitor CCTV, alarm systems, and access control points

- Control entry/exit of personnel and vehicles; verify credentials and visitor logs

- Respond promptly to alarms, disturbances, medical emergencies, and other incidents

- Write clear, accurate incident and daily activity reports

- Enforce company and client security policies, safety rules, and emergency procedures

- Provide excellent customer service while maintaining a professional, authoritative presence

- Assist with emergency evacuations, lockdowns, or other crisis responses as trained

- Perform other security-related duties as assigned by Merchants Security supervisors

 Minimum Qualifications

- High school diploma or equivalent

- Valid Ohio security guard license

- Availability to work 1st, 2nd, 3rd shifts, and/or weekends

- Must be able to pass an Ohio BCI and FBI background check

- Strong observational skills, integrity, and sound judgment

- Clear written and verbal communication skills

- Ability to stand/walk for extended periods and respond quickly in emergencies

- Ability to pass a drug panel screening required

- Reliable transportation

- A clean professional appearance is a must.  The following are not acceptable:

·         Face piercings

·         Face tattoo’s

·         Gauging of the ears

·         Hair must be a natural color and well kept.

Preferred Qualifications

- Previous security, law enforcement, military, or related experience

- CPR / First Aid / AED certification

- Experience with access control systems, CCTV monitoring, or incident reporting software

- Customer-service oriented background

- Basic computer skills are a must

- A strong background in customer service can override the lack of security experience.

Compensation details: 20-23 Hourly Wage
