Job Summary
The Regional Vice President of Retail Operations is a senior leader responsible for the performance, execution, profitability, and leadership of 85+ Hollywood Feed retail locations within an assigned geographic area. This position provides strategic and operational leadership to Regional Managers and field teams, ensuring consistent execution of Hollywood Feed's customer experience promise, operational standards, sales and profitability objectives, people strategies, and company initiatives. The Regional Vice President connects executive leadership and field operations, translating company strategy into measurable results while developing high-performing leaders, strengthening accountability and operational effectiveness, and ensuring an exceptional experience for customers and employees.
Key Responsibilities
  • Lead, coach, develop, and hold accountable Regional Managers and field leaders, establishing clear performance expectations and consistent operational execution across the region.
  • Translate company strategy and priorities into actionable field plans; monitor KPIs, scorecards, and operating metrics, addressing performance gaps and ensuring consistent execution across markets.
  • Analyze financial and operational performance, including sales, labor, expenses, inventory, profitability, and customer metrics; partner with executive leadership on budgets, forecasts, strategic priorities, and growth initiatives.
  • Conduct regular business reviews and store and market visits to evaluate performance, leadership, customer experience, staffing, merchandising, safety, operational standards, and store conditions.
  • Promote a high-performance culture focused on accountability, teamwork, employee engagement, customer service, continuous improvement, and Hollywood Feed's values; partner with Human Resources on talent, employee relations, performance, accommodations, compensation, and workforce matters.
  • Ensure consistent administration of company policies, performance expectations, safety and loss-prevention programs, inventory and cash controls, security requirements, and employment practices in accordance with company standards and applicable laws.
  • Partner cross-functionally with Supply Chain, Merchandising, Marketing, Human Resources, Finance, Technology, Loss Prevention/Safety, Same Day Delivery, and other teams to resolve operational challenges, improve productivity, manage costs, and strengthen execution.
  • Champion the customer experience by ensuring knowledgeable, responsive service and using customer feedback, escalated concerns, and service trends to drive improvement.
  • Serve as a key communication link between executive leadership and field operations, providing clear reporting on performance, financial results, staffing, risks, opportunities, and strategic priorities.
  • Lead through organizational growth and change while maintaining operational stability, employee engagement, customer service, financial discipline, and accountability for results.
  • Perform other duties, projects, and responsibilities as assigned based on business and operational needs.
Requirements & Qualifications
  • Demonstrated success leading a large, geographically dispersed multi-unit retail organization, preferably with responsibility for leading Regional Managers, District Managers, or comparable multi-unit leaders.
  • Strong business and financial acumen, including demonstrated ability to manage P&L performance, budgets, sales, labor, expenses, productivity, and profitability while translating financial and operational data into actionable strategies.
  • Strong knowledge of retail operations, customer service, workforce planning, inventory management, merchandising, labor management, safety, loss prevention, and multi-unit performance management.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, coaching, problem-solving, and organizational skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate effectively across departments and all levels of the organization.
  • Demonstrated ability to balance strategic leadership with field execution, manage competing priorities, lead organizational change, and exercise sound judgment with confidential or sensitive business and employee matters.
  • Ability and willingness to travel extensively throughout the assigned region, maintain a valid driver's license and provide reliable transportation, and respond to significant operational needs outside normal business hours when necessary.
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to travel extensively throughout the assigned geographic area by automobile and commercial air transportation, including overnight travel and extended periods of driving.
  • Ability to regularly visit and navigate retail stores and other company facilities, including standing and walking for extended periods and occasionally bending, stooping, reaching, and climbing stairs.
  • Ability to occasionally lift, carry, push, or move items weighing up to 40 pounds and work in varying indoor and outdoor environmental conditions and temperatures.
  • Ability to effectively use computers, mobile devices, and other business technology and maintain a flexible schedule that may include early mornings, evenings, weekends, holidays, and overnight travel based on business needs, with or without reasonable accommodation.
Education & Experience
  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Management, Retail Management, Finance, Human Resources, or a related field preferred.
  • Advanced degree, including an MBA or comparable graduate degree, are preferred but not required.
  • Significant progressive multi-unit retail leadership experience may be considered in lieu of formal educational requirements.
  • Continuing education or professional development in executive leadership, finance, operations, organizational development, or related disciplines is preferred.
