We are seeking a dependable, skilled Maintenance Technician to join our team and support our repair work-orders and unit turn processes.
Position Overview: The Maintenance Technician plays a vital role in maintaining the integrity of our rental portfolio. This position focus on executing high-quality repairs, managing turning units between tenancies, and performing preventative maintenance. A company vehicle, phone, and necessary tools are provided to support your success.
Key Responsibilities
- Unit Turns & Rehabilitation: Efficiently manage unit transitions by performing drywall repairs and new installations, painting, flooring adjustments, plumbing tweaks, and fixture replacements.
- Routine Maintenance: Diagnose and resolve daily maintenance requests, including replacing thermostats, doors, air filters, locks, caulking, faucets, and light fixtures.
- Preventative Maintenance: Actively execute duties within the company's structured Preventative Maintenance program to mitigate future property issues.
- Inspections: Conduct detailed property condition and safety inspections as required to ensure compliance and tenant safety.
- Operational Excellence: Maintain a clean, organized, and professional work area while on-site, acting as a positive representative of Mauzy Properties.
Qualifications
- Experience: Two (2) or more years of dedicated experience in the property maintenance field.
Technical Skills:
- Proficiency in drywall (both repairs and new installation) and professional painting.
- Comprehensive knowledge of building systems and their operations.
- Working knowledge to diagnose and repair major household appliances (refrigerators, stoves, dishwashers, washers, dryers, and garbage disposals).
- Solid understanding of both electric and gas water heaters.
Core Competencies: Strong problem-solving abilities with a talent for thinking outside the box to resolve complex maintenance challenges.
Required qualifications:
- Legally authorized to work in the United States
- 21+ years or older
- Valid driver's license
- Background check
- Motor Vehicle Report (MVR) Review
- Speaks English
- Reads English
Preferred qualifications:
- Construction skills: painting
- Construction skills: drywall installation
- Construction skills: operating handheld tools
- Construction skills: reading a tape measure
- 2+ years of experience in the cleaning & maintenance services industry
