Cardiovascular Technician

Location: New York, NY
Duration: 13 Weeks
Schedule: 9:00 AM – 9:00 PM
Schedule: 3 Days/Week
Weekends: Not Required

Compensation
  • Travel: $2,500–$2,700 Gross Per Week, based on experience
  • Local: $70–$75 per hour, based on experience
Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Cardiovascular Technician for a 13-week contract opportunity in New York, NY. The ideal candidate will have experience working in a Cardiac Catheterization Lab and supporting physicians and clinical teams during cardiovascular procedures.

Key Responsibilities
  • Monitor patient blood pressure and promptly report changes from baseline to the physician.
  • Monitor and interpret intracardiac pressures to assist with catheter positioning.
  • Record pressures from cardiac chambers as requested by the physician.
  • Maintain a complete and accurate electronic record of events occurring during procedures.
  • Calibrate and operate cardiac monitoring and measurement equipment, including A-Vox, Cardiac Output, and ACT equipment.
  • Communicate test and monitoring results to the physician and cardiovascular monitoring team.
  • Provide physicians with required procedural equipment, including catheters, guidewires, balloons, stents, and related supplies.
  • Analyze and process procedural data and generate required reports and documentation.
  • Set up and calibrate intra-aortic balloon pump (IABP) equipment and assist with timing adjustments in coordination with the physician.
  • Monitor the balloon pump throughout the procedure and remain with the patient during transfer to the appropriate critical-care or surgical unit.
  • Assist during emergency situations, including operation of defibrillators, resuscitation, external pacing, and patient suctioning.
  • Maintain adequate supplies in the Cardiac Cath Lab and perform appropriate preventive maintenance on equipment.
  • Report equipment malfunctions, shortages, and other issues to the appropriate supervisor.
  • Learn and apply new technologies, equipment, and procedures introduced into the Cardiac Cath Lab.
  • Operate power injectors for large-volume contrast injections.
  • Assist with cardiac catheterization procedures by preparing equipment and instruments using sterile technique.
  • Prepare procedure rooms and enter required patient and procedure information into the appropriate electronic system.
  • Assist nursing staff with patient transportation between departments and care areas.
  • Follow established safety, infection-control, and procedural protocols.
Education
  • High School Diploma or GED required.
Required Certification
  • RCIS (Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist) required.
