What You'll Do

As a Medical/Surgical RN, you'll provide comprehensive nursing care to a diverse patient population while working closely with the interdisciplinary care team.

You'll:

  • Assess patients and recognize changes in condition.
  • Develop, implement, and evaluate individualized plans of care.
  • Administer medications and treatments safely and accurately.
  • Use clinical judgment to prioritize care and respond to changing patient needs.
  • Communicate effectively with physicians and interdisciplinary team members.
  • Educate patients and families about medications, treatments, diagnoses, and discharge needs.
  • Promote patient safety, infection prevention, fall prevention, and quality outcomes.
  • Complete timely and accurate clinical documentation.
  • Participate in admissions, transfers, discharges, and transitions of care.
  • Provide compassionate care while maintaining patient dignity and respect.
  • Contribute to a positive, professional team culture.
  • Participate in quality improvement and professional development activities.
The Nurse We're Looking For

We're looking for an RN who:

  • Takes pride in providing safe, compassionate patient care.
  • Can recognize changes in patient condition and respond appropriately.
  • Communicates clearly and works well with others.
  • Can prioritize effectively in a busy acute-care environment.
  • Is dependable and accountable.
  • Treats patients, families, and coworkers with respect.
  • Is willing to learn, grow, and contribute to the team.
  • Understands that teamwork is essential to excellent patient care.
QualificationsRequired
  • Graduate of an accredited nursing program.
  • Current Registered Nurse license in the State of Illinois.
  • Current BLS certification through the American Heart Association or American Red Cross.
  • Ability to successfully complete hospital orientation and required competency requirements.
Preferred
  • Medical/Surgical or other acute-care nursing experience.
  • Current ACLS certification.
  • Experience caring for patients with multiple medical diagnoses or complex care needs.

New graduate RNs may be considered.
