Student Transportation Driver

This position is responsible for providing safe and dependable transportation for our school-age children.

The driver will transport children from Whiz Kids Daycare to their designated elementary schools in the morning and return to the schools in the afternoon to pick them up and bring them back to the daycare.

The position follows a regular morning and afternoon schedule and typically includes stops at approximately 2–3 elementary schools throughout Bristol.

The ideal candidate is responsible, punctual, safety-conscious, and enjoys working with children.

This is an important role within our program, as the driver is responsible for ensuring children arrive at school safely and return to Whiz Kids safely each afternoon.

• Safely transport school-age children from Whiz Kids Daycare to their elementary schools each morning.
• Pick up children from their elementary schools each afternoon and safely transport them back to Whiz Kids Daycare.
• Follow a consistent morning and afternoon transportation route, typically stopping at approximately 2–3 elementary schools.
• Provide a safe, reliable, and positive transportation experience for all children in your care.
• Complete required vehicle safety checks and follow all daycare, transportation, and Connecticut safety regulations.
• Maintain a professional and dependable presence while interacting with children, families, school staff, and Whiz Kids team members.
• Communicate any transportation concerns, delays, or changes to the appropriate daycare staff.
• This position involves transportation only to elementary schools within Bristol, Connecticut

• Valid Connecticut driver’s license
• Valid “V” Student Transportation Endorsement required
• Clean and acceptable driving record
• Must meet all applicable Connecticut requirements for student transportation drivers
• Reliable and punctual
• Must be comfortable working with school-age children
• Strong commitment to child safety and supervision
• Professional, responsible, and dependable
• Must successfully complete required background checks and employment screening
• Ability to follow established transportation routes and safety procedures

Applicants must maintain all required licensing, endorsements, and training necessary to legally transport students in Connecticut.

Current CPR & First Aid certification

Experience working with children

Previous student or childcare transportation experience

Familiarity with Bristol elementary schools

Warm, patient, and positive attitude

Strong communication skills

Dependable and punctual

Comfortable interacting with school-age children

Safety-focused and attentive to detail

Flexible and able to work independently

• This position follows a split schedule, making it a great opportunity for someone looking for a part-time position with a break in the middle of the day.

  Morning: 8:00 AM – 9:15 AM

  Afternoon: 2:30 PM – 4:00 PM

  The schedule may occasionally vary due to school early-release days, delayed openings, or changes to individual school schedules. Advance notice will be provided whenever possible.

  Schedules are based on the school calendar and transportation needs.
