Essential duties/responsibilities (this is not an exhaustive list; other duties may apply):

Responsible for day-to-day operations of the kitchen and meal preparation.

Work with the Director of Dietary Services to determine the amount and type of food necessary to develop the daily menus based on dietary requirements for patients.
Oversee food purchase and check inventory when delivered for accuracy and quality.
Manage food inventory by monitoring for proper food temperature, rotating, and storing food properly to eliminate waste.
Verify that prepared food meets the requirements for quality, quantity, and any dietary needs.
Assist in conducting food preparation (wash, cut), cook, and provide service.
Requisition food products, check inventory when delivered for accuracy and quality.
Record supply usage for inventory and records.
Supervise and provide directions for other Cooks at LWH.
