About Mobile Loaves & Fishes
Mobile Loaves & Fishes (MLF) is a social outreach ministry that has been empowering communities into a lifestyle of service with the homeless since 1998. Founded in Austin, Texas, the organization serves its homeless neighbors through three core programs: Truck Ministry, Community First! Village, and Community Works. Often referred to as the most talked about neighborhood in Austin, Community First! Village is a 51-acre master planned development that provides affordable, permanent housing and a supportive community for men and women coming out of chronic homelessness. We are now embarking on a new phase of community expansion, adding more than 1400 new neighbors over the next 5-10 years.
About the Role
At Community First! Village (CFV), the Neighbor Care department has the privilege of walking alongside our neighbors, providing opportunities for them to settle, cultivate, and care for themselves and others in this unique community home to formerly chronically homeless individuals. As a part of the Neighbor Care team, the Property Management team is animated by a vision to empower neighbors into a lifestyle of accountability, goodness, and mutual respect in order to create a peaceful and healthy community.
We are seeking an Assistant Property Manager to support the launch and ongoing operations of Community First! Village Burleson. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced property management professional to help establish a strong foundation for property operations at a new CFV location while contributing to a community that is expanding its mission of providing affordable, permanent housing and supportive community for people coming out of chronic homelessness. The Assistant Property Manager will begin onboarding and training at Community First! Village's main campus on Hog Eye Road before transitioning to Burleson, tentatively targeted for October and subject to operational needs and the timing of the property launch.
The Assistant Property Manager plays a key leadership role in supporting the daily operations of one of the most unique residential communities in the country. Partnering closely with the Property Manager, this position oversees lease compliance, neighbor relations, property operations, and staff supervision while helping ensure Community First! Village remains a safe, welcoming, and well-managed community. As Community First! Village continues to grow, this role offers the opportunity to help shape processes, develop staff, and support the expansion of a community that is transforming lives.
This is a full-time, exempt position reporting to the Property Manager. Due to the nature and requirements of the position, the hours are generally Monday through Friday, 8:30 am – 5:30 pm. Some nights and weekends may be required, as well as rotating on-call duties. Primary work location may shift based on operational needs and phase launch timing.
