Job Description
Position Summary
We are seeking an experienced Nuclear Medicine Technologist to join an acute-care Nuclear Medicine department. The ideal candidate will have at least two years of relevant experience and be responsible for performing nuclear medicine imaging procedures, assisting with nuclear stress testing, preparing patients, and ensuring accurate documentation throughout the imaging process.
Key Responsibilities
· Perform diagnostic radionuclide and nuclear medicine imaging procedures according to established protocols.
· Perform exercise and pharmacological nuclear stress tests.
· Receive, identify, and prepare patients for nuclear medicine imaging examinations.
· Explain procedures and provide appropriate preparation and instructions to patients.
· Accurately complete required patient forms, records, and documentation.
· Enter and maintain accurate information in the electronic charting/computer system.
· Follow established radiation safety procedures and departmental protocols.
· Work collaboratively with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to provide safe and efficient patient care.
· Maintain compliance with applicable hospital, state, and departmental policies.
Required Qualifications
· Minimum 2 years of Nuclear Medicine Technologist experience.
· Active New York State license required.
· Current NMTCB (Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board) registry/certification required.
· Current BLS certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) required.
· Experience performing nuclear medicine imaging procedures.
· Experience with exercise and pharmacological nuclear stress testing.
· Strong patient-care, communication, and documentation skills.
· Ability to work effectively in an acute-care environment.
Schedule & Hours
· 8:00 AM – 4:00 PM
· 9-hour shift including a 1-hour lunch
· 35 paid hours per week
· Assignment guarantee: 40 hours per week, as applicable to the assignment terms
