Job Title: Principal BI Analyst
Location: Durham, NC, 27707 (Hybrid – 1-2 days onsite)

Duration: 6 months contract role

Pay range: $60-$64/hr. on W2 (The compensation offered will be determined based on the candidate’s qualifications, relevant experience, geographic location, and other applicable factors, and will fall within the posted pay range)

Job Summary:

We are seeking a Principal BI Analyst to serve as a thought leader and technical architect for data visualization and analytics solutions. This role will focus heavily on Power BI, data integration, dashboard development, and visualization strategy, while partnering with Data & Analytics and business stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design and architect high-performance, scalable, and maintainable Power BI/data visualization solutions.
• Analyze complex business problems and translate business requirements into effective analytics solutions.
• Build and maintain executive-level dashboards, including backend data structures and refresh processes.
• Connect and work with data from multiple sources to deliver accurate and actionable insights.
• Partner closely with business, analytical, and Data & Analytics stakeholders.
• Establish and enforce data visualization governance, development standards, and best practices.
• Perform discovery and fact-finding to fully understand business and technical requirements.
• Troubleshoot system and data issues and provide technical guidance to the team.
• Facilitate cross-functional problem-solving and communicate project status, risks, and issues.
• Mentor junior team members and provide guidance on development best practices.
• Ensure dashboards and solutions are designed for long-term scalability and maintainability.

Required Qualifications:

• 8+ years of experience in a related field; 10+ years preferred.
• Strong hands-on experience with Power BI and data visualization.
• Experience connecting to and working with multiple data sources.
• Healthcare industry experience preferred/required.
• Bachelor's or advanced degree preferred; equivalent experience may be considered.

Nice to Have:

• Experience with enterprise data visualization governance.
• Experience building executive-level dashboards.
• Experience with Tableau or other data visualization platforms.
