About this job
Job Description
We are hiring a Direct Care Professional (DSP/Caregiver) to support adults with developmental disabilities in a residential group home in Cape Coral, FL.
We are looking for someone who is compassionate, dependable, professional, energetic, and genuinely enjoys working with individuals with developmental disabilities. The right person must be a team player, communicate effectively in English, and take pride in maintaining a clean, organized, and welcoming home for our residents.
Responsibilities include: assisting residents with activities of daily living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, and other personal care needs; supporting residents with meals and daily routines; engaging residents in meaningful activities and community outings; providing companionship and promoting independence; completing required documentation; following individualized care plans and safety procedures; communicating appropriately with staff and management; and maintaining a safe, clean, organized home environment.
Housekeeping is an important part of this position. Staff are expected to clean up throughout their shift, maintain common areas and resident spaces, complete assigned household duties, and actively participate in scheduled deep cleaning of the home. We are looking for someone who notices what needs to be done and takes initiative rather than waiting to be asked.
What we're looking for: fluent English communication required; Spanish is a plus; excellent attendance and punctuality; dependable and consistent; compassionate and patient; strong teamwork and communication skills; comfortable providing hands-on personal care; comfortable with housekeeping and deep cleaning responsibilities; professional attitude; ability to follow directions, policies, and resident care plans; and a genuine desire to improve the quality of life of adults with developmental disabilities.
Our goal at Caring Family Group Home is to create a true home where adults with developmental disabilities can live meaningful, independent, and fulfilling lives. We are looking for someone who shares that mission and understands that consistency, compassion, teamwork, cleanliness, and quality care all contribute to our residents' quality of life.
Caring Family Group Home is dedicated to creating a warm, supportive home where adults with developmental disabilities are empowered to live meaningful, fulfilling lives. We believe exceptional care goes beyond meeting daily needs. It means building genuine relationships, encouraging independence, creating meaningful experiences, and treating every resident with dignity and respect.
Our team works together to maintain a safe, clean, welcoming home while providing compassionate, person-centered support. We're looking for team members who genuinely care about the people they support and want to make a difference in their everyday lives.
