Job Description
8am-5pm (possible additional hours) | up to 85K to startZing Recruiting has partnered with an automotive parts manufacturing company in Chicago to fill a contract to potential hire Senior HR Generalist role -- which is onsite. In this role, incumbent will be key in handling employee relations, recruiting, and HR operations.
Responsibilities Include:
- Hands-on HR partner to leaders and employees across the manufacturing facility
- Manage employee relations, investigations, conflict resolution, and disciplinary processes
- Support union/labor relations, including grievances and interpreting/applying union contracts
- Recruit for both hourly and salaried positions
- Prepare and support payroll processes using UKG (you will not process payroll)
- Utilize advanced Excel skills for HR reporting, metrics, and analysis
- Partner with supervisors and managers on HR policies, performance, development, and employee concerns
- Support benefits, workers’ compensation, onboarding, training, and compliance initiatives
- Be comfortable walking the plant floor, building relationships, and addressing issues where they happen
Qualifications include:
- Bachelor's in Business or HR
- 5–7+ years of HR experience with at least 3 years in a manufacturing environment where you have recruited for both hourly and salaried roles
- Union/labor relations experience including grievances, investigations, and contract interpretation
- Experience with UKG
- Strong employee relations and problem-solving skills
