Wastewater Estimator

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Wastewater Estimator to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will be responsible for accurately estimating costs for wastewater infrastructure projects, including treatment plants, sewer systems, and related facilities. Your expertise will help ensure project budgets are precise, competitive, and aligned with client expectations. Duties

  • Prepare complete and accurate takeoffs for civil construction projects.
  • Develop detailed cost estimates including labor, equipment, materials, subcontractors, trucking, and temporary facilities.
  • Solicit, evaluate, and negotiate subcontractor and supplier quotations.
  • Analyze project risks, constructability, scheduling constraints, and value engineering opportunities.
  • Attend mandatory pre-bid meetings and site visits.
  • Coordinate with project managers, superintendents, and operations staff during estimate development.
  • Prepare bid summaries, estimate recaps, and executions reviews.
  • Assist in developing project schedules and work plans.
  • Ensure bids comply with owner specifications, contract requirements, bonding requirements, and bid instructions.
  • Prepare Requests for Information (RFIs) during the bidding process.
  • Maintain current knowledge of labor rates, productions rates, equipment costs, and material pricing.
  • Build and maintain relationships with owners, engineers, subcontractors, and suppliers.
  • Assist with contract negotiations and project turnover meetings.
  • Maintain estimating databases, historical cost information, and bid documentation.
  • Support business development efforts by identifying bidding opportunities and tracking upcoming projects.

  • Concrete structures
  • Directional drilling
  • Utility relocations
  • Municipal infrastructure improvements
  • USACE, FDOT, municipal, and government-funded projects

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum 5 years of estimating experience in heavy civil construction.
  • Experience estimating water and wastewater infrastructure projects.
  • Strong understanding of civil construction methods and underground utility installation.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, specifications and contract documents.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
  • Experience with estimating software such as HCSS Heavy Bid, Bid2Win, AGTEK, Bluebeam, or similar.
  • Excellent mathematical analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong written and verbal communication abilities.
  • Ability to manage multiple estimates while meeting strict bid deadlines. Valid driver's license with a satisfactory driving record

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in construction management, Civil Engineering, or related field (preferred but not required).
  • Experience with federal, state, and municipal procurement procedures.
  • Knowledge of OSHA safety requirements.
  • Experience with CPM scheduling software.
  • Familiarity with Sage, Viewpoint, Procore, or similar construction management software.

  • High attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
  • Strong negotiation and vendor management skills.
  • Ability to evaluate production rates and equipment utilization.
  • Strong understanding of construction sequencing and logistics. Physical Requirements
  • Ability to visit construction sites and navigate uneven terrain.
  • Ability to stand, walk, climb, bend, and li� up to 25 pounds.
  • Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions during site visits.
  • Ability to travel occasionally to project sites and pre-bid meeting. Benefits
