Job Description
1. Transfer the deceased to funeral home.
2. Pick up and deliver death certificates and other funeral related material.
3. Clean and drive funeral vehicles in funeral processions.
4. Perform general maintenance duties for funeral home; prepare parlors or chapels for wakes and funeral service.
5. Place caskets in parlors or chapels prior to wakes and funerals; arrange floral offerings around caskets.
6. Pick up families for service; offer assistance to mourners as they enter and exit funeral cars.
7. Greet mourners at the funeral home; direct or escort mourners to the parlor or chapel in which wake or funeral is held.
8. Assist with funeral service and close casket at appropriate point in service.
9. Lead funeral procession; ensure cars have identifying flags or markers during procession and direct family at cemetery.
10. Perform other related duties as needed or required.
*This position will require periodic on call work for response to telephone calls during non-business hours
