Nursing Unit Manager

The Nursing Unit Manager will oversee a team of 10-20 staff members within a geriatrics patient care unit, ensuring high-quality patient care and adherence to healthcare standards. This role entails full decision-making autonomy, occasional on-call responsibilities, and close coordination with physicians to maintain smooth operations and promote patient safety.

Responsibilities

• Manage and lead nursing staff to deliver exceptional patient care
• Oversee patient care operations specific to geriatrics units
• Ensure compliance with quality assurance and healthcare regulations
• Implement and enforce unit policies and procedures
• Coordinate training and professional development for staff
• Maintain patient safety standards and manage related incidents
• Work collaboratively with physicians and interdisciplinary teams
• Provide on-call support as needed one weekend a month

Preferred Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years experience in nursing management
• Registered Nurse (RN) License
• Strong clinical nursing background
• Proven leadership and team management skills
• Knowledge of healthcare regulations and patient safety protocols
• Excellent communication and conflict resolution abilities
• Effective problem-solving skills in a healthcare setting
