Major Equipment Procurement/Thermal Process Engineer 2

The worker will provide daily support and refueling outage support of the Procurement Engineering department for Plant Vogtle Units 1 thru 4. These activities include new item master preparation, supplier exception notice resolution, and item equivalencies.

Experience

• 7-10 Years Experience in related field.
• Accredited Bachelors Degree in Mechanical Engineering.
• (PE preferred or Masters a plus).

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Perform thermal analysis of simple and combined cycle plants on a daily basis. Write technical reports and specifications.
• Run heat balance software.
• Travel 25% of the time.
• Size major equipment for the new as well as retrofit projects.
• Utilize proficient Excel skills for data and calculations.
• Utilize Thermoflow, Gate Cycle, or other Heat Balance programs.
• Troubleshoot plant equipment under warranty and provide field support.
• Support Start up of new equipment at plant sites.

SKILL SETS & EXPERTISE:

• Experience in the field of thermodynamics for a minimum of 3 Years.
• Experience with simple and combined cycle plants.
• Solid experience with mass and thermal balance.
• Experience writing reports and specifications.
• Experience running heat balance software.
• Experience sizing major rotating as well as heat transfer equipment.
• OEM experience preferably with GE, Siemens, Nooter Erickson, or Toshiba. Experience with Thermoflow, Gate Cycle, or other Heat Balance programs.
• Plant site experience preferred.
• Experience troubleshooting plant equipment.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office.
