Structural Welder

Brookshire, TX: Flexicrew Technical Services (FTS) is seeking  Structural Welders for a full-time shop position. The ideal candidate will have hands-on structural steel welding and fabrication experience and be able to successfully pass a 3G weld test.

Essential Duties:

• Weld and fabricate structural steel components using MIG and flux-core welding processes.
• Set up welding equipment and perform structural welds in accordance with project specifications and quality standards.
• Perform 3G welding using MIG and flux-core processes with 1/16-inch wire.
• Use carbon arc gouging equipment as required for welding and fabrication activities.
• Operate cutting torches and other welding/fabrication equipment as needed.
• Safely use overhead cranes, jib cranes, and other lifting/rigging devices to move and position components.
• Follow all shop safety policies and procedures.
• Maintain a clean and organized work area and properly dispose of waste in accordance with safety and environmental requirements.
• Consistently meet production, quality, and safety requirements.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements/Skills:

• Minimum 2–4 years of welding and fabrication experience with structural steel.
• Must be able to successfully pass a 3G weld test using MIG and flux-core with 1/16-inch wire.
• Proficiency with flux-core welding in the 3G position.
• Must have experience with carbon arc gouging.
• Experience with cutting torch and other welding/fabrication equipment.
• Ability to safely operate or work with overhead cranes, jib cranes, and other lifting/rigging devices is a plus.
• Ability to follow welding, fabrication, and safety procedures.
• Ability to communicate effectively and follow verbal instructions.

Physical Requirements:

• Work is performed 100% in a shop environment.
• Ability to stand for extended periods, with approximately 80% of the workday spent standing.
• Ability to walk, climb, bend, stoop, push, pull, and handle materials.
• Ability to lift and handle materials weighing up to 45 pounds.
• Ability to work around welding fumes, arc flash, high noise levels, grinding debris, and other typical fabrication-shop hazards.
• Ability to wear required personal protective equipment and safely perform welding and fabrication duties.
