CDL Class A Dump Truck Driver

The CDL Class A Dump Truck Driver safely operates dump trucks to transport materials such as dirt, stone, asphalt, and milling debris between job sites. This role supports grading, excavation, mainline pipe installation, processed water, milling, and paving operations by hauling materials as needed. The driver loads and unloads materials while ensuring proper weight distribution and adherence to legal load limits, follows assigned haul routes and traffic laws, and complies with company safety policies and DOT regulations. The position requires daily truck inspections for safety and mechanical issues, basic maintenance checks, clear communication with site supervisors and project teams, and accurate logging of deliveries, mileage, and material loads.

• Safely operate CDL Class A dump trucks to transport dirt, stone, asphalt, milling debris, and other materials between job sites.
• Support grading, excavation, mainline pipe installation, processed water, milling, and paving operations by hauling materials as required.
• Load and unload materials while ensuring proper weight distribution and compliance with legal load limits.
• Follow assigned haul routes and obey all traffic laws, maintaining strict adherence to company safety policies and DOT regulations.
• Conduct daily inspections of trucks to identify safety or mechanical issues and perform basic maintenance checks as needed.
• Communicate effectively with site supervisors, equipment operators, and project teams to coordinate hauling activities and schedules.
• Maintain accurate logs of deliveries, mileage, material loads, and any relevant trip information.
• Operate heavy equipment as needed to support hauling and site operations, in accordance with safety guidelines.
• Handle lowboy hauling tasks when required, ensuring secure transport of heavy equipment.
• Work collaboratively with field crews to ensure materials are delivered on time and in the correct locations to keep projects on schedule.

• Valid CDL Class A license with experience operating dump trucks.
• Proven experience hauling materials such as dirt, stone, asphalt, milling debris, and similar construction materials.
• Demonstrated ability to operate dump trucks safely and efficiently in active construction environments.
• Knowledge of DOT regulations, traffic laws, and company safety policies related to commercial driving and hauling.
• Ability to load and unload materials while maintaining proper weight distribution and adhering to legal load limits.
• Experience conducting daily vehicle inspections and performing basic maintenance checks on heavy trucks.
• Strong communication skills to coordinate with site supervisors, equipment operators, and project teams.
• Ability to maintain accurate logs of deliveries, mileage, and material loads.
• Experience with lowboy hauling and transporting heavy equipment.
• Background in heavy equipment operating (HEO) in support of hauling and site operations.

• Experience hauling equipment to and from job sites using lowboy trailers.
• Hands-on experience driving and operating a variety of heavy equipment in construction settings.
• Familiarity with grading, excavation, mainline pipe installation, processed water, milling, and paving operations.
• Ability to work extended hours when needed, including occasional Saturdays.
• Comfort working in all weather conditions while driving and operating heavy equipment.
• Strong attention to safety and adherence to operational procedures on active job sites.

This role follows a Monday through Friday schedule with some Saturdays as needed, typically from 6:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. The work is primarily field-based and involves driving and operating heavy equipment in active construction environments. Drivers work in all weather conditions and should be prepared for outdoor, physically active work throughout the day. The environment emphasizes safety, proper operation of heavy equipment and trucks, and coordination with crews on job sites.

This is a Permanent position based out of Franklin, VA.

The pay range for this position is $50000.00 - $70000.00/yr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
