Our client is an established law firm seeking an experienced Senior Litigation Paralegal with 10+ years of defense litigation experience to support its California litigation practice.
This is a substantive role working closely with attorneys throughout the litigation lifecycle, from discovery through trial. The ideal candidate is highly organized, independent, detail-oriented, and comfortable taking ownership of complex litigation matters.
ResponsibilitiesSupport attorneys through all phases of civil defense litigation, including discovery, depositions, hearings, and trial preparation.
Draft written discovery, responses, objections, and meet-and-confer correspondence.
Conduct document review and assist with document production and privilege logs.
Prepare medical chronologies, billing summaries, and deposition summaries.
Assist with deposition preparation and case strategy.
Manage case files, evidence, deadlines, and litigation calendars.
Prepare trial notebooks, witness and exhibit lists, exhibit binders, and trial materials.
Assist attorneys during hearings and trials as needed.
Anticipate case needs and independently manage assigned litigation responsibilities.
10+ years of defense litigation experience.
Significant experience supporting California civil litigation.
ABA-approved Paralegal Certificate.
Strong knowledge of discovery, document production, privilege, depositions, and trial preparation.
Excellent organizational, research, writing, and analytical skills.
Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple deadlines.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and collaboratively with attorneys.
Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
Strong judgment and ability to anticipate litigation team needs.
