Job Description

The Quality Auditor is responsible for independently assessing the effectiveness of the organization's Quality Management System (QMS), internal controls, and compliance processes. This role will partner with cross-functional teams to conduct audits, drive corrective actions, identify process improvement opportunities, and ensure compliance with AS9100D, FAA regulations, and other applicable aerospace quality standards.

 

Location: San Jose, CA
Schedule: Onsite | Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM-5:00 PM
Employment Type: Long-term contract-to-Hire
Key Responsibilities
  • Develop, maintain, and execute the annual internal audit plan based on risk assessments.

  • Conduct internal audits and evaluate compliance with AS9100D, ISO 9001, FAA regulations, and company procedures.

  • Document audit findings and present results to leadership and key stakeholders.

  • Lead corrective and preventive action activities, including assignment and tracking of Root Cause Corrective Actions (RCCA).

  • Partner with cross-functional teams to perform root cause investigations utilizing methodologies such as 8D, 5 Whys, and Fishbone Analysis.

  • Verify the effectiveness and timely closure of corrective actions.

  • Support external audits, regulatory inspections, and customer assessments.

  • Monitor quality trends and identify opportunities for systemic process improvements.

  • Maintain accurate audit records and documentation in accordance with quality and regulatory requirements.

  • Provide ongoing support for continuous improvement initiatives across operations, engineering, manufacturing, supply chain, and other functional teams.

Required Qualifications
  • 3-5 years of internal auditing experience within aerospace, aviation, or a regulated manufacturing environment.

  • ISO 9001:2015 Internal Auditor certification.

  • Strong understanding of Quality Management Systems (QMS) and quality compliance standards.

  • Experience performing root cause analysis using structured problem-solving methodologies such as 8D, 5 Whys, or Fishbone.

  • Proficiency with audit tracking systems, quality documentation, and record management tools.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to present findings to leadership.

  • Highly organized, analytical, and detail-oriented.

  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience working within a startup or rapidly growing aerospace organization.

  • Knowledge of FAA 14 CFR Part 21 and aerospace quality requirements.

  • Familiarity with airworthiness regulations and aircraft certification programs.

  • AS9100D Internal Auditor certification.

  • Certified Quality Auditor (CQA) and/or Certified Internal Auditor (CIA) credentials.

  • Experience using Jira and SAP ERP systems.
