Optometrist
Location: Binghamton, NY
Schedule: Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM-4:00 PM
Work Setting: In Person
Job Type: Full-Time
We are seeking a compassionate and motivated Optometrist to provide comprehensive primary eye care to an established patient base with the support of an experienced clinical and administrative team.
Responsibilities include:
Perform comprehensive and routine eye examinations.
Provide primary vision care to patients ages 5 and older.
Provide pediatric eye care.
Diagnose and manage ocular conditions, including dry eye and other ocular diseases.
Prescribe corrective lenses for spectacles and contact lenses.
Provide contact lens dispensing and related services.
Perform tonometry and other routine diagnostic procedures.
Provide pre- and post-operative care for surgical patients.
Handle ocular emergencies and urgent care needs.
Educate patients on eye health, vision correction, and preventive care.
Maintain accurate patient records using EHR/EMR systems.
Collaborate with fellow healthcare providers to ensure quality patient outcomes.
See approximately 20-24 patients per day, depending on appointment types and provider experience.
Doctor of Optometry (OD) degree from an accredited institution.
Active New York State Optometry License.
Strong clinical and diagnostic abilities with a patient-centered approach.
Experience with direct patient care and treatment.
Experience with contact lens dispensing.
Proficiency with EHR/EMR systems.
Strong understanding of HIPAA compliance.
Excellent interpersonal, communication, and teamwork skills.
Flexibility and professionalism when working with patients of all ages.
Experience with pediatric optometry and ocular disease management preferred.
