Fiber Optic Splicer - Data Center

Required Experience and Certifications:

• 4-7+ years of commercial cable installation.
• Strong experience in cable splicing.
• OSHA 10 certification required; OSHA 30 strongly preferred.
• Man lifts and CPR certification required.
• Valid Drivers License w/ Ability to obtain a DOT medical card required.
• Bucket truck certification required.
• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Ability to work flexible hours and overtime.

Roles and Responsibilities:

• Ability to independently perform all Level I & Level II functions

• Advanced ability to support Data Center, ISP and OSP projects in a variety of customer facilities nationwide with expert ability to determine equipment needs, cable route, cable direction, safety best practices, and perform splicing functions within a live customer facility

• Possesses expert knowledge and skillsets to utilize various hand tools to complete splices including diagonal cutters, razor blades, ribbon splitters, etc.

• Performs complex cable relocations and hot cuts while maintaining cable organization

• Collaborate with qualified DC power technicians to terminate and connect secondary DC power installations to an active power bay

• Creates Smart Sheets and Excel trackers to accurately track project schedules and progress

• Proactively identifies and escalates project and personnel issues to operational leadership where appropriate

• Effective leader and trainer of other crew members; leads by example, ensure all company safety, quality, production, performance and conduct expectations are followed

• Creates training plans and conducts training for other Technicians and serve as a leader in the field, driving quality, efficiency, production, and safety

• Serves as an ADB Culture Champion leading, driving, and participating in ADB culture pillar events

• Utilizes expert-level splicing skills to identify, recommend, and implement process improvements across ADB’s Data Center group

Schedule: Onsite in New Albany, OH (60-72 hours/ week); night and day shift; potential travel

Compensation: $30-$35/ hour
