Job Description
A rewarding opportunity is available for a dedicated Special Education Teacher skilled in serving students with moderate to severe needs within transitional kindergarten through second grade. This full-time contract role spans from now through early June 2027 and offers the chance to create meaningful change in a school community near National City, CA.
As an essential resource for young learners, you'll design and deliver personalized instruction, collaborating closely with support staff and families to foster an inclusive and positive environment. Qualifications and Requirements:
- Active California Education Specialist Instruction Credential with authorization for Moderate/Severe Disabilities (required)
- Demonstrated experience supporting students with significant cognitive, behavioral, and developmental needs
- Strong understanding of IEP development, progress monitoring, and relevant compliance protocols
- Passion for encouraging independence, building self-esteem, and integrating diverse learners into the school community
- Excellent communication, organizational, and collaboration skills
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement individualized lesson plans aligned with IEP goals
- Deliver differentiated instruction to address a range of learning styles and abilities
- Work effectively with aides, therapists, and other support professionals
- Monitor student progress, maintain documentation, and participate in IEP meetings
- Foster a safe, inclusive, and positive classroom atmosphere that supports every child's potential
