Job Description
We are looking for a Principal Radar Systems Engineer to lead the system definition, performance analysis, and verification of advanced radar solutions in Lindon, Utah. This position is suited for an experienced engineer who can connect architecture, subsystem design, and test strategy while working across software, firmware, RF, electronics, and mechanical disciplines. The role combines deep technical ownership with hands-on validation, helping ensure radar capabilities meet operational objectives from concept through field testing.

Responsibilities:
• Direct system-level design activities for advanced radar platforms, including architecture development, interface definition, and performance allocation across subsystems.
• Evaluate radar behavior using core principles such as waveform selection, range prediction, target response, detection performance, and tracking accuracy.
• Perform analytical studies to assess key metrics including detection range, angle estimation precision, target characterization, and interference effects in multi-radar environments.
• Guide the integration of radar assemblies and supporting subsystems into broader product architectures, resolving cross-domain technical issues as they arise.
• Create, maintain, and refine system requirements to ensure traceability, technical consistency, and alignment with operational needs.
• Plan and execute verification and validation efforts throughout the development lifecycle, using analysis, inspection, demonstration, and formal testing methods.
• Establish scalable test strategies for laboratory, integration, and field environments, and produce the associated plans, procedures, and final reports.
• Lead indoor and outdoor radar test campaigns, coordinating instrumentation, logistics, data collection, and deployment activities in varied operating conditions.
• Investigate performance anomalies through structured troubleshooting and root-cause analysis, and implement disciplined practices for test data storage and tracking.• Master’s degree or PhD in Electrical Engineering, Systems Engineering, Physics, or a closely related technical discipline.
• Strong command of radar theory, including radar fundamentals, signal processing methods, and system performance evaluation.
• Experience leading verification and validation activities for complex engineering systems.
• Hands-on background in test planning, test execution, and formal documentation for lab and field environments.
• Proficiency in Python, MATLAB, or similar technical computing tools for analysis, automation, and data review.
• Broad systems perspective with the ability to work effectively across hardware, software, firmware, RF, and manufacturing teams.
• Willingness and ability to travel as needed and work in outdoor test environments during field deployments.
• Demonstrated attention to quality, repeatability, and detail, with strong debugging and problem-solving skills.
