CT Technologist
Location: New York, NY
Duration: 9 Weeks – Contract
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 12:00 AM–8:00 AM
Local Rate: $75–$80/hour, based on experience
Travel Gross Weekly: $2,900–$3,100/week, based on experience
We are seeking an experienced CT Technologist for an overnight position. The technologist will perform CT procedures according to established protocols, ensure diagnostic image quality, provide patient care, and maintain compliance with radiation safety and department procedures.
Overnight CT certification and injection certification are required. The position may also require performing X-ray procedures during the overnight shift.
Key Responsibilities- Perform CT examinations according to prescribed protocols to ensure accuracy, consistency, and diagnostic image quality.
- Utilize appropriate kV and mA techniques for CT imaging.
- Perform daily quality control and calibration checks on CT equipment before patient studies.
- Administer contrast material/injections according to physician orders and established protocols.
- Verify patient information, procedure requirements, and applicable safety precautions prior to examinations.
- Assess and respond appropriately to patient needs before, during, and after radiology procedures.
- Follow radiation safety practices and the ALARA principle.
- Perform required quality control, quality assurance, and safety testing.
- Complete department logs, documentation, charge records, and other required paperwork accurately.
- Report equipment issues and malfunctions according to established procedures.
- Maintain and retrieve patient imaging records and electronic data for radiologist interpretation.
- Order patient-specific contrast/radiopharmaceutical doses as required by department procedures.
- Receive and verify delivered radiopharmaceuticals/contrast materials according to applicable policies.
- Verify activity levels or dosage information prior to administration when applicable.
- Perform X-ray procedures as required during overnight coverage.
- Maintain compliance with applicable departmental, regulatory, and radiation-safety requirements.
- Graduate of a JRCERT/JCERT-approved School of Radiologic Technology.
- Current New York State Radiologic Technologist License (LRT).
- ARRT certification required.
- BLS certification through the American Heart Association (AHA).
- CT certification/experience required.
- Injection/contrast administration certification required.
- Ability to work the overnight 12:00 AM–8:00 AM schedule.
- Strong patient-care, communication, and technical skills.
- Ability to follow CT protocols and maintain high standards of imaging quality and safety.
- Previous experience working as an overnight CT Technologist.
- Experience performing both CT and X-ray procedures.
- Experience with contrast/injection procedures.
- Experience working in a fast-paced hospital or radiology environment.
