Job Description
KMM is seeking a motivated Process Engineering Intern for Summer 2027 to support process documentation, workflow analysis, and continuous improvement within our aerospace electronics manufacturing environment. This internship provides hands‑on experience working directly with engineers, operators, and quality teams to strengthen production processes and ensure alignment with AS9100 requirements.
Process Documentation - Assist with updating work instructions, process sheets, and controlled documents.
Production Floor Support - Observe assembly steps, gather operator feedback, and help resolve minor process issues.
Time Studies & Data Collection - Collect cycle‑time and throughput data to support labor estimates and workflow validation.
Routing & Workflow Review - Validate routing accuracy and ensure alignment with actual production practices.
Lean & Continuous Improvement - Participate in 5S, waste‑reduction efforts, and small improvement projects.
Cross‑Functional Collaboration - Work with Manufacturing Engineering, Quality, and Operations teams.
Currently enrolled in an accredited college or university pursuing Engineering or a related field
Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills
Familiarity with Excel, process‑mapping tools, or basic CAD
Interest in aerospace manufacturing, workflow optimization, and continuous improvement
Clear communication and teamwork skills
Ability to follow written procedures and maintain documentation accuracy
Hands‑on engineering experience in aerospace electronics manufacturing
