AVIR at Alice is seeking a compassionate and dedicated Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) to join our rehabilitation team. We are currently hiring for Full-Time and Per Diem opportunities.
Our in-house rehabilitation program provides an excellent opportunity to work collaboratively with residents, families, nursing staff, and other rehabilitation professionals to help residents achieve greater independence and improve their quality of life.
Position Responsibilities
Provide skilled occupational therapy interventions under the supervision of a licensed Occupational Therapist.
Implement individualized treatment plans developed by the Occupational Therapist.
Assist residents with therapeutic activities designed to improve strength, coordination, mobility, balance, ADLs, and functional independence.
Provide training and education to residents and caregivers on therapeutic techniques, safety, adaptive strategies, and home exercise programs.
Monitor residents' responses to treatment and communicate progress, concerns, and changes in functional status to the supervising Occupational Therapist.
Document treatment sessions, resident progress, and other required information accurately and in a timely manner.
Collaborate with OTs, PTs, PTAs, SLPs, nursing staff, physicians, and other members of the interdisciplinary team.
Follow established treatment plans and modify interventions as directed by the supervising Occupational Therapist.
Maintain compliance with facility, state, and federal regulations and professional standards.
Promote a compassionate, respectful, and resident-centered approach to care.
Qualifications
Current Texas Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) certification/license in good standing.
Graduate of an accredited Occupational Therapy Assistant program.
Strong clinical, communication, and organizational skills.
Experience in skilled nursing, subacute rehabilitation, or a similar setting is preferred.
Compassionate and resident-focused approach to care.
Ability to work effectively as part of an interdisciplinary rehabilitation team.
