Job Description
Operations Supervisor – 1st Shift Buckeye Linen | Newark, Ohio
Lead from the Floor. Build a Great Team. Keep Production Moving.
Buckeye Linen is looking for an energetic, hands-on Operations Supervisor to lead a team of approximately 22 people in our fast-paced Newark production facility.
This is a single-shift, floor-level leadership role responsible for the people and production on your team. Reporting directly to the General Manager, you'll be a key part of keeping daily production running smoothly.
We are a family-owned and operated company with roots dating back to 1934, and we believe great operations start with great people. We're looking for a leader who can bring energy, accountability, organization, and even some fun to the workday-while making sure production, quality, and safety expectations are consistently achieved.
This is not a behind-the-desk position. You'll be on the production floor, working alongside your team, solving problems, coaching employees, monitoring workflow, and making sure we finish each day successfully.
What You'll Do
- Lead, motivate, and develop a production team of approximately 22 employees.
- Create a positive, energetic work environment while maintaining high standards and accountability.
- Organize daily production to ensure quotas and customer requirements are met efficiently and on time.
- Monitor productivity, workflow, labor utilization, and quality throughout the shift.
- Identify bottlenecks and make real-time adjustments to keep production moving.
- Train and coach employees on proper processes, quality standards, safety, and productivity expectations.
- Maintain strong quality-control standards and address problems before they reach our customers.
- Work closely with our maintenance team on preventive maintenance and equipment reliability, helping catch and address issues before they impact production.
- Look continuously for better, safer, and more efficient ways to get the job done.
- Be visible, approachable, and willing to jump in wherever the team needs leadership.
Who We're Looking For
We want someone who understands that being a great operations supervisor means leading from the floor-not from an office.
The right person will have:
- Previous production, manufacturing, distribution, laundry, or similar operational leadership experience.
- Experience supervising and motivating hourly employees.
- A proven ability to meet production quotas while maintaining quality standards.
- Strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
- An understanding of production equipment, workflow, and preventive maintenance.
- The ability to hold people accountable while still building a team employees enjoy being part of.
- A sense of urgency and the ability to make good decisions in a fast-moving environment.
- A willingness to roll up their sleeves and lead by example.
Why Buckeye Linen?
We aren't a huge corporation where you're just another employee number. We are part of a family-owned and operated business that has been serving customers since 1934, and we're continuing to grow.
For the right person, this position offers real opportunity for advancement within our operations team as the company continues to grow. We want someone who can make this production team better today and continue to grow their skills and responsibilities alongside us.
If you enjoy leading people, improving processes, solving problems, and seeing the results of your work every day, we would like to meet you.
Come help us build a production team that works hard, works smart, takes pride in quality-and enjoys winning together.
Our company is dedicated to resource conservation and social responsibility. Part of the quality service we offer our customers is the knowledge that we are helping them achieve their business goals while reducing their impact on the environment.
