Our growing law firm is looking to hire a family attorney who is fiercely passionate about representing clients facing one of the most challenging times in their lives. Candidates should be adept at preparing necessary legal documents in connection with prenuptial agreements, initiating and finalizing divorces, alimony, child support/child custody, and real estate. Experience in handling legal issues such as child abuse, child custody, and domestic violence is also a must. If you have a proven record of success both in and out of court, apply now!
The responsibilities of a Family Law Litigation Attorney in our firm include representing and advising clients in various family cases.
Compensation:$80,000 - $120,000 annually + Bonus
Responsibilities:
- Create legal documents such as pleadings, motions, marital settlement agreements, contracts, judgements and orders for a high volume of cases
- Keep client files properly organized and up to date
- Communicate with senior partners and paralegals to effectively move through the civil litigation process
- Handle the division of marital assets, including real estate, during divorce proceedings as needed
- Assist clients effectively by understanding their needs analyzing the situation then strategizing and deciding on a proper course of action
What You’ll Do:
- Represent clients in family law hearings, mediations, and trials.
- Draft motions, pleadings, settlement agreements, and final orders.
- Guide clients through complex legal and emotional situations.
- Collaborate with paralegals and senior attorneys on case strategy.
- Oversee case files, track progress, and manage deadlines.
- Communicate regularly with clients and opposing counsel.
- Occasional travel required across Ohio.
Qualifications:
- Prior work or studies in criminal justice preferred
- Proven record of success in advocating for plaintiffs and defendants
- Candidates should be great negotiators and communicators, specifically in situations when emotions and stress are high
- 4-year degree with a legal background and J.D. degree are necessary for this position
- Active membership with the ABA (American Bar Association)
What You Need:
- Licensed to practice law in the state of Ohio.
- Prior experience with Family Law is preferred.
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
- Excellent courtroom presence and legal writing skills.
- Strong communication and client relationship abilities.
- Confidence under pressure and compassion for people in crisis.
- Willingness to work independently and as part of a team.
- The Family Law Litigation Attorney will have a four-year bachelor’s degree, a Juris Doctor degree, and be licensed to practice law in West Virginia.
- The Family Law Litigation Attorney will demonstrate proficiency in litigation skills.
