BLDG MAINTENANCE TECH

Trinity Metro has an immediate opening for a Building Maintenance Technician. This position is responsible for performing a wide range of maintenance, repairs, and preventive maintenance tasks across Trinity Metro Facilities, including administrative buildings, transit centers, rail stations, and support infrastructure. This position ensures facilities and systems remain safe, operational, and compliant with applicable codes and standards.

Responsibilities:

• Perform routine and corrective maintenance on building systems including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and general structural component.
• Conduct preventive maintenance (PM) in accordance with established scheduled and manufacturer recommendations.
• Trouble shoot and repair equipment and facility systems to minimize downtime and operational disruptions.
• Perform carpentry, painting, drywall, and general mechanical repairs as needed.
• Inspect facilities and identify maintenance needs, deficiencies, or safety concerns.
• Respond to Work Orders and Service Request in timely and professional manner.
• Assist with installation and replacement of building equipment and systems.
• Coordinate with contractor for specialized repairs, and monitor work for quality and compliance.
• Maintain accurate maintenance logs, work orders, and documentation.
• Ensure tools, equipment, and materials are properly maintained and inventoried.

Additional Responsibilities:

• Support emergency repairs and afterhours maintenance activities as required,
• Assist with facility upgrades, renovations, capital improvement projects.
• Coordinate with the operations (Bus and Rail) to minimize service interruptions.
• Maintain a clean and organized work environment.
• Represent Trinity Metro in a professional manner at all times.

Shift:

Sunday -Thursday, 1 pm to 9:30 pm (off Friday & Saturday)

Shift differential pay:

2nd Shift $2.00 per hour (shifts starting a 1 pm or later)

3rd Shift $3.00 per hour (shifts starting at 10 pm or later)

Weekend Any Shifts $4.00 per hour (shifts with a start time that begins on a Saturday or Sunday)

Preferred Qualifications:

• High School Diploma or GED required
• Valid Texas Driver’s License
• Minimum 3-5 years’ experience in building, or Plant Maintenance
• Technical Certification in HVAC, electrical, or plumbing
• OSHA 10 or 30 certification
• Ability to and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals
• Strong problem -solving and critical thinking skills
• Strong organizational and time management skills
• Good communication skills
• Experience working in transit, commercial, or industrial facilities
• Knowledge of Building / Energy management Systems
