Job Description
The Porter/Bellhop serves as a front-line ambassador for Villa Roma Resort & Conference Center, providing exceptional hospitality services to guests from arrival through departure. This position assists with luggage handling, transportation of guest belongings, maintenance of public areas, and serves as a knowledgeable resource for guests seeking information about resort amenities and local attractions.

Classification: Hourly, Non-Exempt
Pay Range: ($13.30/hour) + tips
- Greet and welcome arriving guests, providing a positive first impression of the resort
- Transport guest luggage to and from rooms during check-in and check-out
- Assist guests with unloading and loading vehicles upon arrival and departure
- Provide orientation to guests regarding room features and resort amenities during escort to rooms
- Maintain the cleanliness and organization of the main entrance and lobby areas
- Monitor the front entrance area and assist guests requiring special assistance
- Deliver packages, messages, and requested items to guest rooms
- Provide information about resort facilities, services, and local attractions
- Assist with special requests such as ice delivery, extra linens, or amenities
- Coordinate with valet parking services when applicable
- Support the front desk during high-volume check-in and check-out periods
- Perform regular cleaning and light maintenance of public areas
- Assist with movement and arrangement of furniture for special events
- Inspect and maintain luggage carts and other guest service equipment
- Report maintenance issues, safety hazards, or security concerns to appropriate departments
- Secure the lobby and entrance areas during closing procedures
- Answer phone calls during high volume periods
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- Previous customer service experience, preferably in hospitality
- Knowledge of the local area and attractions
- Strong verbal communication skills
- Professional appearance and demeanor
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Basic problem-solving skills
- Valid driver's license may be required for certain positions
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods throughout shift
- Capable of lifting and carrying luggage weighing up to 50 pounds
- Frequent bending, stooping, and reaching required
- Ability to push loaded luggage carts on various surfaces
- Must be able to work in various weather conditions
- Manual dexterity to operate equipment and handle guest property safely
- Work is performed primarily indoors with frequent trips outdoors
- Exposure to various weather conditions when assisting guests outside
- High-volume periods during check-in and check-out times
- Varying schedule including weekends, holidays, and evening shifts
- Fast-paced environment requiring quick response to guest needs
- Primary work locations include lobby, entrance areas, and guest rooms
