Overview: Our client is seeking an Application Developer to support the development of a new inspections application used by field inspectors for data collection and reporting. This position will play a key role in modernizing an existing business-critical system by converting legacy fillable PDF forms into interactive web-based forms and supporting the overall application development effort. This opportunity is ideal for an early-career to intermediate-level developer who enjoys building practical business applications, working with databases, and supporting internal users through technology solutions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Convert approximately seventy existing fillable PDF forms into interactive HTML-based forms.
  • Develop and maintain JavaScript functionality to capture, validate, and process user-entered data.
  • Integrate form submissions with SQL databases to store and retrieve inspection information.
  • Support PDF generation processes utilizing templating technologies and application data.
  • Collaborate with business stakeholders to ensure forms and workflows accurately reflect operational requirements.
  • Assist with development, testing, troubleshooting, and enhancement of internal business applications.
  • Support ongoing JavaScript development efforts to keep application delivery on schedule.
  • Participate in code reviews, testing activities, and application documentation.
  • Work closely with project stakeholders to identify opportunities for process improvement and automation.

Preferred Experience:

  • 1-4 years of experience developing web applications, business applications, data-entry systems, or internal software solutions.
  • Strong experience with JavaScript.
  • Experience working with SQL databases and writing SQL queries.
  • Proficiency with HTML and CSS.
  • Experience developing web forms, user interfaces, or data collection applications.
  • Understanding of relational database concepts and data management principles.
  • Familiarity with Git or GitHub source control tools is preferred.
  • Exposure to Python, Docker, Jinja templates, or similar technologies is a plus.
  • Ability to troubleshoot application issues and work independently on assigned development tasks.
