Job Description
Construction Carpenter – Framing / Balcony & Finish CarpentryWho We Are

At KH Properties, we believe strong communities start with strong values: Community, Integrity, and Quality. We specialize in the renovation and management of multifamily apartment communities throughout the Midwest and Southeastern United States. Our work focuses on revitalizing properties through thoughtful, high-quality construction—done the right way, every time.

The Opportunity

We are expanding our Construction team in Jackson, Mississippi, and are currently seeking experienced carpenters to support active multifamily renovation projects.

Our immediate needs include two Framing/Balcony Carpenters as well as two Finish Carpenters.

This is an ideal opportunity for hands-on construction professionals who enjoy working in an active jobsite environment and take pride in completing quality work as part of a productive construction crew.

Framing/Balcony Carpenter candidates should bring demonstrated experience with structural framing, wood construction, exterior repairs, decking, balconies, railings, demolition/rebuild work, and related rough carpentry.

Finish Carpenter candidates should bring demonstrated experience with interior finish work such as cabinets, countertops, doors, baseboards, trim, molding, drywall repair, punch work, and completing renovated spaces to a move-in ready standard.

These are working positions—not supervisory roles. Your specific responsibilities will be based on your experience, demonstrated skills, and the needs of the construction team.

What We Offer
  • Competitive hourly pay based on skill level and experience.

  • Company-sponsored health insurance with 100% employee-only premium coverage.

  • Affordable coverage options available for spouses and dependents.

  • Health, dental, and vision insurance eligibility after the introductory period.

  • 401(k) retirement plan with 100% company match up to 4% after eligibility.

  • HSA and additional voluntary options.

  • Paid holidays after 60 days of employment.

  • Vacation pay eligibility after the introductory period.

  • OSHA 10-hour training and additional certification opportunities.

  • A consistent, year-round workload with a standard 5-day work week and occasional overtime.

  • A respectful team environment where quality work is recognized and appreciated.

Framing / Balcony Carpenter Responsibilities
  • Perform rough and structural carpentry associated with multifamily renovation projects.

  • Frame walls, openings, decks, balconies, and other wood structures according to project plans and specifications.

  • Repair and replace damaged framing, decking, joists, railings, stairs, and other structural or exterior components.

  • Measure, cut, fit, assemble, and install lumber and other building materials accurately.

  • Perform demolition and removal of damaged or deteriorated construction materials in preparation for rebuilds.

  • Safely use saws, hand tools, power tools, ladders, and other construction equipment required for assigned work.

  • Identify construction concerns and communicate issues that could affect safety, quality, or project completion.

  • Assist with general construction activities when framing or balcony work is not required.

Finish Carpenter Responsibilities
  • Perform finish carpentry and interior renovation work throughout multifamily apartment communities.

  • Install and repair cabinets, countertops, interior doors, baseboards, trim, molding, shelving, hardware, and other finish materials.

  • Complete drywall repairs, patching, caulking, and other preparation or finishing work associated with renovations.

  • Measure, cut, fit, and install finish materials with attention to alignment, appearance, and quality.

  • Complete punch-list items and final construction details necessary to deliver renovated apartments to a move-in ready standard.

  • Troubleshoot and correct finish-work issues while maintaining established quality expectations.

  • Safely use hand tools, power tools, saws, and measurement equipment required for assigned work.

  • Assist with general construction activities when finish carpentry work is not required.

What You'll Do
  • Work as part of an active construction crew completing multifamily renovation projects throughout the Jackson area.

  • Follow established project plans, scopes, supervisor direction, and KH Properties' quality standards.

  • Safely operate tools and equipment appropriate to your assigned position and demonstrated experience.

  • Complete assigned responsibilities independently while collaborating with the broader construction crew.
