About the Role:
Colon Rectal Associates of Central New York is looking for a dedicated and compassionate Medical Assistant to join our specialized clinical team in Camillus, NY. Responsibilities:
- Assist physicians and clinical staff with patient examinations and procedures
- Room patients, obtain vital signs, and document medical histories accurately in the EMR system
- Prepare and maintain exam rooms, ensuring proper sanitation and supply stocking
- Administer medications and injections as directed by the supervising physician
- Coordinate patient scheduling, referrals, and follow-up appointments
- Communicate effectively with patients regarding pre- and post-procedure instructions
- Handle specimen collection, labeling, and processing for laboratory submission
Requirements:
- High school diploma or GED required; Medical Assistant certification (CMA or RMA) preferred
- Prior clinical experience in a medical office or specialty practice setting preferred- 2+ years
- Proficiency with electronic medical records (EMR) software
- Strong phlebotomy and vital signs skills
- Excellent interpersonal and patient communication skills
- Ability to maintain patient confidentiality and comply with HIPAA regulations
- Compassionate, detail-oriented, and able to thrive in a fast-paced specialty clinic
