Trailer Mechanic - Mobile

Mobile Trailer Mechanic – Ghent, KY

$30-$38+/HR | PAID DRIVE TIME | AVG. 10 HRS OT/WEEK | TAKE-HOME SERVICE TRUCK

We're looking for an experienced Mobile Trailer Mechanic in the Ghent, KY area. This is a true field-service position for a tech who knows trailers, can troubleshoot without someone looking over their shoulder, and likes being out on the road instead of stuck in a shop.

The work is about 90% trailers — mainly dry vans, flatbeds and step decks — with occasional Class 8 truck work.

What you'll be working on:

• Trailer repair, maintenance and on-site service
• Brakes, suspension, air systems, lighting and 12V electrical
• Tires, wheel ends and other running gear
• PMs and inspections
• Diagnostics and troubleshooting
• Welding and light fabrication
• Some Class 8 truck and bolt-on repairs

The schedule:

• Monday-Friday, 6:00 AM-3:30 PM
• Home every night
• All drive time is paid
• Average of 10 hours of OT per week
• On-call rotation about once every 9-10 weeks

What you need:

• 2+ years of trailer or heavy truck mechanic experience
• Solid trailer repair experience preferred
• Able to diagnose and repair equipment independently
• Valid driver's license
• CDL is a plus, but not required
• Able to pass a drug screen and DOT physical
