MARINE DECKHAND - TRAVEL REQUIRED

Dredgit is hiring Marine Deckhands / Boatmen to support dredging operations on active marine job sites.

This is hands-on work on boats, barges, and dredges. You will work outdoors, around heavy equipment, cables, pumps, and waterways.

Responsibilities:

• Handle mooring lines, ropes, cables and anchors
• Assist with positioning dredges, barges, work boats and floating pipeline
• Work with dredge pipe and pontoon line, including installation, moves and basic repairs
• Fuel, grease, inspect and perform routine maintenance on dredges, boats, pumps and other equipment
• Assist with rigging, loading and unloading equipment and materials
• Clean and maintain decks, barges, boats and work areas
• Use hand and power tools to perform routine maintenance and repairs
• Assist Levermen, Boatmen and other crew members as directed
• Complete daily equipment inspections and follow all company safety procedures

Requirements

• Valid driver's license
• Willing and able to travel extensively and stay out of town for extended periods
• Able to work long shifts outdoors in heat, cold, rain, mud and other jobsite conditions
• Able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs. and perform physical work including climbing, bending, pulling and standing for extended periods
• Comfortable working on and around water, boats and heavy equipment
• Able to safely use basic hand and power tools
• Mechanical aptitude and a willingness to learn
• Dredging, marine, construction, oilfield, industrial or heavy-equipment experience is a plus

Travel

This position requires travel.
Dredgit provides:
