About Us
Cultivating Homes is a South Carolina DSS residential group home serving adolescent boys and young men ages 13 to 21, including transition-age youth in extended foster care. We provide a safe, structured, and supportive home where young people build life skills, stay on track in school, and prepare for independence.

What You'll Do

  • Supervise and support residents to keep the home safe, calm, and structured
  • Carry out daily routines, behavior plans, and life-skills activities
  • Help residents with meals, hygiene, homework, recreation, and appointments
  • Transport residents to school, activities, and community outings
  • Build positive, trusting relationships with the young people in our care
  • Document daily logs, incidents, behavior, and medication administration accurately
  • Use de-escalation techniques and follow emergency procedures during crises
  • Protect resident confidentiality and rights at all times
  • Work as a team with supervisors, case managers, and clinicians
  • Attend staff meetings and required trainings

Available Shifts

  • Weekday Evening: Monday to Friday, 3:00 PM to 11:00 PM
  • Weekday Short Evening: Monday to Friday, 5:00 PM to 10:00 PM
  • Weekday Overnight: Monday to Friday, 11:00 PM to 7:00 AM
  • Weekend Day: Saturday and Sunday, 6:00 AM to 6:00 PM
  • Weekend Overnight: Saturday and Sunday, 6:00 PM to 6:00 AM
Requirements

  • At least 21 years old
  • High school diploma or GED
  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record
  • Able to pass background checks, fingerprinting, drug screening, and health clearance
  • CPR and First Aid certification from American Red Cross, American Heart Association, or Health and Safety Institute (or willing to obtain before start)
  • Able to stay calm, patient, and professional in stressful situations
Preferred

  • Experience working with youth in residential, foster care, school, or behavioral health settings
  • Associate or bachelor's degree in human services, social work, psychology, education, or a related field
  • Training in trauma-informed care or crisis intervention
