Description
American Traveler is hiring a CT Technologist for an acute care hospital imaging department, requiring dual CT and X-ray experience and ARRT certification in both modalities.
Details
- Acute care hospital setting within a combined CT/X-ray imaging department
- Department includes 1 CT scanner, 2 X-ray rooms, 1 portable X-ray unit, 1 ultrasound, and 1 Dexa scanner
- Performs ER, inpatient, and outpatient exams including portables, stroke and trauma imaging
- No OR or fluoroscopy duties required
- Uses Philips X-ray and portable equipment and Siemens CT and X-ray equipment
- Average volume of 5-10 CT, 8-10 ultrasound, and 10-15 X-ray studies per day
- EPIC EMR and McKesson/Change Healthcare PACS used
- Night shift schedule, Monday-Thursday, 9:00 PM to 7:00 AM, 10-hour shifts
- 24/7 department coverage with 40 hours per week guaranteed
- Possible occasional float coverage to Magic Valley hospital, disclosed at interview
- No call or standby requirements
Requirements
- Minimum 1 year of experience required
- BLS certification (AHA or ARC)
- Certified CT Technologist - ARRT(CT)
- Certified Radiologic Technologist - ARRT(R)
- License required if applicable
- Experience in both CT and X-ray modalities required, with comfort transitioning between specialties
- Must be able to start IVs for CT outpatients, with possible training for Point of Care Creatinine testing
- EPIC EMR experience
- Driver's license required for consideration
- Two professional references required: one supervisor from within the last 12 months worked and one peer or supervisor from within the last 3 years worked, including employment dates and rehire eligibility
Additional Information
- Follows protocol book and physician preferences for basic general scans
- Department led by a Radiology Manager and Lead Technologist
- Radiologist available by call from Magic Valley
- 1-3 days of department-specific orientation, extendable if needed
- Additional support provided by a Medical Imaging educator during onboarding
- No scrub color requirement
- RTO and holiday coverage details disclosed during interview
- Facility follows a 50-mile radius rule; local candidates within this radius are not eligible
- Permanent employees must be separated from the facility for at least one year before applying for a travel assignment
- First-time travelers may be considered
