Job Summary:
Physical Therapist Outpatient (PT OP) position in a rural outpatient therapy facility located in Blue Hill, Maine. This role involves providing outpatient physical therapy services to mainly adult and school-aged patients with diagnoses such as post-orthopedic, post-spinal surgeries, geriatrics, work injuries, and neurological imbalances. The position is suitable for licensed professionals with outpatient experience and offers a start date of November 2, 2026, with an end date of January 30, 2027.
Job Details:
- Schedule: Monday through Thursday, four 10-hour shifts from 0700 to 1730, with a minimum of 40 hours per week.
- Required Qualifications: Maine Physical Therapist (PT) license, Basic Life Support (BLS) certification, at least 1 year of outpatient experience, including manual therapy, exercise science, patient education, and adaptive equipment training.
- Preferred Qualifications: Experience with adult and school-aged patients, knowledge of neurological balance management, and experience working in rural or general outpatient settings.
- Additional Information: Orientation will last approximately 1 to 1.5 weeks, during which the new therapist will be partnered with staff and gradually assume a full patient load. No weekend rotation or on-call duties; facility closed on major holidays with possible work on minor holidays. Scrubs can be solid colors or business casual. Parking is free.
- Support within the Department: Three physical therapists, one patient service representative, and at least one assistant supervisor available (not always on site). The manager will be accessible via phone.
- Technology/Equipment: EMR system used is Cerner PowerChart; no floating requirements specified.
